The nine stages
A shopper's agent has to get through every one of these. tragent drives a real agent through each and reports where it stopped.
Find products
Can an agent find your products at all?
An agent has to reach your site and locate products by searching or browsing before anything else can happen.
Read the details
Can it understand what the product is?
Name, description, images and variants have to be readable as data, not just rendered as a page.
See the price
Can it see what the product costs?
Price and currency have to be stated in a way that matches what a shopper is shown.
Check stock
Can it tell whether the product is in stock?
An agent that cannot tell what is available will recommend things you cannot sell.
Add to basket
Can it add the product to a basket?
The basket has to be reachable and to keep what was put in it.
Reach checkout
Can it get through checkout?
Every required field has to be labelled, and no step may need a human gesture only a person can make.
Pay
Can it pay?
An agent shopping for someone has to be able to complete the payment it was sent to make.
Return an order
Can it start a return?
Returns handled by a person are returns an agent cannot make on a customer's behalf.
Can it sign in to an account?
Saved baskets, order history and returns all sit behind a sign-in wall.
