Connecting BigCommerce

Set up a BigCommerce store: product pages, basket, checkout and feed.

  1. Add your store

In tragent, open Store setup and add your store's address. Use a staging site if you have one: it is the only place tragent will complete a checkout, so a test can never touch a real customer's order.

  2. Choose BigCommerce as the platform

There is no BigCommerce connection to install. Choosing the platform is recorded on every finding, so its advice names the right place to change.

  3. Add one or two product pages

BigCommerce product URLs usually sit at the root of the store, such as /blue-running-shoe/, which do not look like product pages to a crawler. Add one or two product URLs in Store setup.

  4. Tell tragent where the basket and checkout are

BigCommerce uses /cart.php for the basket and /checkout for checkout. Enter those, or your own if you run a headless storefront.

  5. Add your product feed

If you publish a Google Merchant Center feed through a channel, paste its URL so tragent can compare it with your pages.

  6. Pick two products for the shopping tests

Give tragent the id of one product that is in stock and one that is sold out. The basket and checkout tests use the first; the stock test uses both. Leave them out and those tests are skipped with a reason, not failed.

  7. Run a quick store check

A quick store check takes about a minute and needs no AI model. Store setup then shows what tragent found and, for anything blank, why.
